Chandigarh, October 13, 2025: Government Home Science College, Chandigarh organised an impactful Nukkad Natak on the theme “Surakshit Nari, Swastha Nari, Sashakt Nari” as part of the ongoing Poshan Maah celebrations. The event aimed at spreading awareness about the significance of women’s safety, health and empowerment in building a stronger and healthier society.

The students from the Department of Human Development presented a powerful performance at Rose Garden, Sector-16, Chandigarh highlighting various issues concerning women’s well-being including the importance of balanced nutrition, personal hygiene, mental health and self-defence. The natak also sensitized the audience towards gender equality, women’s rights and the need for a supportive environment that allows women to thrive in every sphere of life.

Through expressive acting, meaningful dialogues and strong social messages, the Nukkad Natak effectively conveyed the idea that a “Safe, Healthy and Empowered Woman” is the foundation of a progressive nation. The audience appreciated the students’ efforts and the creativity displayed in delivering a socially relevant message in a simple yet powerful manner.

Principal Prof. Sudha Katyal applauded the participants for their enthusiastic involvement and highlighted the importance of celebrating Poshan Maah not only to promote nutritional awareness but also to foster holistic well-being among women. She encouraged students to continue spreading awareness through such innovative and engaging activities. The event reflected the college’s commitment towards women’s development and aligned perfectly with the national vision of ensuring “Poshan Bhi, Padhai Bhi” emphasising that good health and empowerment go hand in hand.
