GHG Khalsa College Gurusar Sadhar Celebrates International Day of Yoga with Enthusiastic Campus Session
On Sunday, GHG Khalsa College Gurusar Sadhar successfully celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga with a vibrant one-hour session from 6.30 AM to 7.30 AM on the college campus.
Ludhiana, June 22, 2026: On Sunday, GHG Khalsa College Gurusar Sadhar successfully celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga with a vibrant one-hour session from 6.30 AM to 7.30 AM on the college campus.
The event was organized by the NCC army wing (both girls and boys) of the college, under the supervision of 3 Pb (G) Bn and 3 Pb Bn NCC Ludhiana, and featured renowned yoga coaches under the CM Di Yogshala scheme, Rajesh Kumar Lakhera and Rahul Sharma, who led participants through various yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditation techniques aligned with the global theme "Yoga for Healthy Aging."
NCC cadets from GHG Khalsa College and Swami Ganga Giri College, Raikot, and other colleges actively participated in the celebration, demonstrating discipline and commitment to fitness, while local residents from Gursar Sadhar and surrounding areas joined the event, making it a meaningful community-wide celebration.
The session began with an opening ceremony introducing International Yoga Day, followed by warm-up exercises; traditional yoga poses, including Surya Namaskar, Padmasana, Bhujangasana, and Dhanurasana; breathing exercises such as Anulom Vilom, Bhastrika, and Kapalbhati; and a guided meditation session for mental peace. The celebration successfully bridged the college community with local residents, promoting yoga as a tool for physical fitness, mental well-being, and healthy aging while fostering community solidarity through the shared practice of yoga.
Principal Inderjit Singh of GHG Khalsa College encouraged the NCC cadets to adopt this exercise in their routine life.
