GHG Khalsa College declared Reigning Champions of P.U Inter-college Football Championship (Girls) for record 19th time

Ludhiana, September 29, 2017: The Panjab University Intercollege Football Championship (Girls) 2017 was held at GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar from 25th September 2017 till 29th September. On the basis of league matches, the match for third position played between PGGC, Sector 11, Chandigarh and Ramgarhia Girls College, Ludhiana, was won by PGGC Sector 11 by 2-0. The final match was played between GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sadhar and MCM DAV College, Chandigarh. The matches were closely contested.
The President of the College Governing Council, S. Manjit Singh Gill; Dr. Parminder Singh, Director Sports P.U. Chandigarh; Dr. Swaranjeet Singh Deol, Principal; Dr. Harjinder Singh Brar, College Registrar; Dr. J.S. Brar, Ex-Principal, College of Education & Prof. Tejinder Singh, HOD Physical Education, flagged off the final match.

The Sadhar College girls being the reigning champions for the past 18 years showed agility and strength by scoring a goal in the first 5 minutes of the final match and led the first half with a score of 3-1. This lead was continued into second half as well with the GHG Khalsa College team becoming the defending champions for the record 19th time with a score of 4-2.
Sardarni Surjit Kaur, Sardar Dilawar Singh, Mr. Daniel Devan were the guests especially present to witness the history being made.
