Ghalib’s birth anniversary witnessed mesmerizing poetry session

On the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of the famous Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib  the literary organization, Mitramanch Foundation, Sonbhadra, organized its 21st annual Mushaira and Poets' Meet on December 27, 2023, in the Hotel Arihant. Renowned poets and poetesses from across the country mesmerized the audience by reciting their ghazals, drawing praise from the audience.

On the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of the famous Urdu poet Mirza Ghalib  the literary organization, Mitramanch Foundation, Sonbhadra, organized its 21st annual Mushaira and Poets' Meet on December 27, 2023, in the Hotel Arihant. Renowned poets and poetesses from across the country mesmerized the audience by reciting their ghazals, drawing praise from the audience.  

The inauguration of the Mushaira was done by Mitramanch's coordinators, Dvay Daya Singh and Umesh Jalan, who offered homage to Ghalib by presenting a shawl on his portrait and lighting the ceremonial lamp. Following this, Mitramanch's president Vikas Varma 'Baba' and members of the executive committee, Vinod Kumar Choubey, Ram Prasad Yadav, Sandeep Chaurasiya, felicitated the poets and poetesses, presenting them with souvenirs. 

The program was chaired by poet Javed Asi, and the stage was managed by Hasan Sonbhadri. The event began with Saraswati Vandana by Shruti Bhattacharya. Subsequently, Javed Asi recited Ghalib's ghazal "Har Ek Baat Pe Kehte Ho Tum Ki Tu Kya Hai." The spellbound  audience listened to the ghazals, poems, and songs of all the poets and poetesses, showering them with enthusiastic applause.

Poet Javed Asi from Deoband said: 
"In the stubbornness of legacies, houses crumbled, 
In these storms, many families shattered."

Vikas Varma 'Baba' expressed: 
"Everyone is a loser in the wretchedness of life; 
Why victory tastes like defeat before achieving it.
Those who act in the darkness, their faces become dark.
They are destined to be infamous until morning."

Hasan Sonbhadri stated:
"Retrieve a fish from the water,
Estimate the intensity of my love.
If it's untainted, how is the moon?
Find flaws in my character until the morning."

Pandit Prem Barelvi conveyed:
"No matter how difficult the times, the honorable endured.
Life has been splendid for the virtuous amidst oppressions."

Dr. Sarfaraz Nawaz shared:
"Why doesn't the lamp of pain burn,
Even though I changed positions on the bed."

Pankaj Tyagi 'Asim' remarked:
"If a girl fears going alone to the city,
It's better if the ruler himself steps down from the throne."

Danish Jaidi expressed:
"This darkness doesn't last forever.
This mention is not brief."

Dr. Shad Mashriqi said:
"Tell the noble to shoulder the coffin.
The funeral of decency is underway."

Manmohan Mishra expressed:
"Every page of my songs is a document.
Those are the documents of my pain."

Shruti Bhattacharya said:
"Politics emerged worse than a spectacle.
Nakedness in a crowded gathering."

Dr. Jaspreet Kaur 'Falak' recited:
"I delicately weave concerns and arts.
I am the first blush of the rising sun.
In my ghazals is the allure of love.
I am a resident of Sahir's city."

In the end, Mitramanch Foundation, Sonbhadra's president Vikas Varma 'Baba' expressed gratitude to all the participants from across the country, and delved that the event exemplified national unity, where the fragrance of Punjab, the magic of Bengal, the colors of Maharashtra, the elegance of Delhi, the simplicity of Uttarakhand, and the companionship of Uttar Pradesh were present as a nation in microcosm.  

Besides the coordinators and members of Mitramanch Foundation, other prominent persons who graced the event included Radheshyam Bunka, Umesh Jalan, Sandeep Chaurasiya, Hazrat Ali, Ram Prasad Yadav, Murali Agrawal, Ashok Srivastava, Amit Varma, Vinod Kumar Choubey, Alok Varma, Gyanendra Rai, Dhirendra Agrahari, Santosh Varma, Rajesh Soni, Dr. Govind Yadav, Israr Ahmad, Firoz Khan, M.D. Aslam, and other collaborators, social workers, and activists. The event concluded with the proposal of a vote of thanks to all.
