GH-6 Inaugural Evening: A Night of Glamour, Grace, and Celebration

Chandigarh, October 17, 2025: The Girls Hostel No. 6, Panjab University, Chandigarh sparkled with joy and energy on Thursday evening, as students, faculty, and guests gathered for the much-awaited Inaugural Evening that radiated elegance, enthusiasm, and togetherness. 

The GH-6 premises were beautifully transformed into a vibrant stage of lights, music, and celebration. The evening opened with the anchors’ grand entry, who warmly welcomed the audience and introduced the distinguished guests — the Chief Guest, Prof. Sonal Chawla, the DSWs, special invitees, and all the hostel wardens. Their presence added immense prestige to the occasion and inspired the students to celebrate the hostel’s creative and cultural spirit. The programme commenced with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolising the start of an auspicious evening, accompanied by a soulful singing performance that filled the air with serenity and devotion.

The Warden then addressed the gathering with heartfelt words of appreciation, thanking everyone for their participation and support. A token of appreciation was presented to the Chief Guest and other dignitaries as a gesture of gratitude and respect. Adding to the inspiration, Prof. Sonal Chawla delivered an insightful address, encouraging students to embrace their talents and continue striving for excellence. 

The DSW also shared motivating words, commending the organising team for their efforts and emphasising the importance of cultural activities in fostering confidence and community among students. With the formal segment concluded, the stage came alive with a burst of colour, rhythm, and creativity. A series of spectacular dance performances kept the audience enthralled, highlighting the enthusiasm and diverse talent of GH-6 residents.

The entertainment reached its peak with the much-awaited Ramp Walk Rounds, where participants showcased elegance, confidence, and unique style, earning thunderous applause from the crowd. Between the rounds, energetic dance and song performances kept the audience engaged and the spirit high. The excitement culminated with the announcement of results, as winners were crowned across four exciting titles, celebrating creativity, poise, and charisma. The evening concluded on a gracious note with the Warden’s thank-you address, extending heartfelt gratitude to all guests, participants, and organisers for making the event memorable. The celebrations continued into the night with a lavish dinner and DJ session, where everyone came together to dance, dine, and rejoice.
