GGNIMTians Plog for Sustainable Environment
NSS Unit Members of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology(GGNIMT), Ghumar Mandi associated with the District Administration & the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana, in the First PLOGGERS DRIVE to commemorate The World Environment Day. This drive was conducted by GGNIMTians on the stretch from Arti Chowk to Fountain Chowk, during which students not only jogged but they also picked up the plastic trash and litter lying on the roads.

Ludhiana, June 8, 2025: NSS Unit Members of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology(GGNIMT), Ghumar Mandi associated with the District Administration & the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana, in the First PLOGGERS DRIVE to commemorate The World Environment Day. This drive was conducted by GGNIMTians on the stretch from Arti Chowk to Fountain Chowk, during which students not only jogged but they also picked up the plastic trash and litter lying on the roads.
Sahil Tishawar, a B.Sc Fashion Design felt the Ploggers drive not only helped clean the environment, but also helped him to improve his fitness by jogging. Anil a BCA student also felt Plogging was a multiple benefits activity, as it helped clean the environment, contribute to one’s physical fitness and also be sensitized to observing the environment, while collecting the litter. Dhruv a Hotel Management student and a Fitness enthusiast highlighted how Plogging was way better than jogging as it not only helped burn more calories but also made one more alert about the environment. Muskan a BCA student was enthused to explore the possibilities for creatively recycling the collected waste for making artefacts and daily use products.
Director GGNIMT Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra advised the students to not pursue Plogging as a once an year event, but to adopt it in their daily routine for improving their physical fitness and also transforming the environment of Ludhiana. Dr.Harpreet Singh, Principal GGNIMT appreciated the efforts put in by the NSS Faculty Coordinators Prof. Jagmeet Singh, Prof. Gurleen Kaur and Prof. Honey Chawla for mentoring the students. He also congratulated the students for enthusiastically participating in this Social Initiative.
