Ludhiana, March 10, 2026: Gujranwala Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GGNIMT) successfully organized its Annual Sports Meet – Enthusia 2026 with great enthusiasm and vibrant participation at the sprawling grounds of the GGN campus. The event witnessed immense excitement among students and faculty members who gathered to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and physical fitness.
The program began with the ceremonial welcome of the Chief Guest, Gurdarshan Singh, whose gracious presence added pride and inspiration to the event. The celebrations commenced with the hoisting of the Sports Flag, symbolizing unity, discipline, and the true spirit of sports.
The meet was formally declared open with great zeal, after which students pledged to uphold the values of fair play, integrity, and sportsmanship throughout the competitions. The audience remained captivated as students from different departments marched with confidence and discipline during the March Past, synchronizing their steps with pride and determination.
Students from various departments including Business Management, Computer Applications, Hotel Management, and Fashion Designing participated enthusiastically in a wide range of athletic events. The competitions included 50m, 100m, 200m and relay races, tug-of-war, arm wrestling, shot put, long jump, and various fun races, showcasing the physical strength, agility, and competitive spirit of the participants.
As the day progressed, the sports arena echoed with cheers and applause from spectators who enthusiastically supported the participants. The tug-of-war contests and track events particularly kept the audience on the edge of their seats, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere throughout the day.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Gurdarshan Singh appreciated the students for their energetic participation and highlighted that sports play a crucial role in building discipline, confidence, and leadership qualities among youth. He encouraged students to actively participate in outdoor activities and maintain a balance between academics and physical fitness for their holistic development.
The event was also graced by distinguished dignitaries including Dr. S. P. Singh, President, Gujranwala Khalsa Educational Council (GKEC) and Former Vice Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, Harsharan Singh Narula, Honorary General Secretary, GKEC, and Hardeep Singh, Management Member.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. S. P. Singh emphasized that sports play a vital role in shaping the personality of students and instilling values such as perseverance, teamwork, and discipline. He appreciated the institute for providing students with opportunities that contribute to their overall growth and character building.
Prof. Manjit Singh Chhabra, Director, GGNIMT, stated that Enthusia serves as an important platform for students to showcase their physical abilities and competitive spirit. He added that such events help students develop essential life skills such as teamwork, resilience, and leadership which are equally important in professional life.
Dr. Harpreet Singh, Principal, GGNIMT, highlighted that sports activities are an integral part of education as they help in developing confidence, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle. He encouraged students to actively engage in sports and physical activities along with their academic pursuits.
The sports meet concluded with the prize distribution ceremony, where winners were awarded medals and certificates for their outstanding performances. The memorable event ended with a vote of thanks and the National Anthem, leaving everyone inspired by the vibrant display of talent, teamwork, and sporting excellence.
