Chandigarh, October 30, 2025: The University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management (UIHTM), Panjab University, Chandigarh, today organised an international interactive session on “Global Insights on Sustainable & Organic Tourism”.
German Expert and Chairman, Ecoslevae.V. (Germany) Heiner Steinhans shared inspiring insights on Sustainable Tourism in Germany and Latin America, focusing on the concept of Organic Hotels that harmonise hospitality with environmental stewardship and community engagement.
Iris Schumacher, North-South Coordinator, highlighted Targets and Opportunities in the Volunteer Programme, encouraging youth participation in cross-cultural initiatives supporting sustainability and community development.
Earlier, Dr. Jaswinder Kumar, Director, UIHTM, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests, faculty members, and students, introducing the theme as a vital initiative toward promoting responsible and eco-friendly tourism practices. At UIHTM, we believe that the future of tourism lies in harmony with nature. Collaborations like these broaden our students’ horizons and inspire them to become global ambassadors of sustainable and ethical travel, he added.
