General observer conducts inspection at C&D strong room in mini secretariat; issues necessary directions to ensure security

Ludhiana, May 22, 2024: General Observer for Ludhiana Parliamentary constituency Divya Mittal IAS, on Wednesday, conducted inspection at the C&D strong room established in mini secretariat.

The C&D strong room is the place where defective Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) are stored by the district administration. 

Accompanied by Assistant Commissioner (UT) Kritika Goyal among other officials of district administration, General Observer Divya Mittal directed the staff to ensure proper security arrangements at the site including CCTv cameras, deployment of police etc. Also directions were issued to ensure preparations for smooth functioning of the strong room. 

Divya Mittal further directed the officials to keep a strict vigil around the strong rooms across the district and the senior officials should also conduct regular checking of security arrangements, so that the election process is completed smoothly and peacefully.
