General Mohan Singh’s book ‘The History of the Indian National Army Soldiers’ Contribution to Indian Independence’ released

Jalandhar, October 21, 2023: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised a seminar for the release of the book ‘The History of the Indian National Army Soldiers’ Contribution to Indian Independence’ written by General Mohan Singh. 

Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal, was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Dr. Rounaki Ram, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chair, Professor of Political Science, Panjab University, Chandigarh, attended as the keynote speaker. The program was presided over by Prof. Chaman Lal. In addition to Dr. Satpal Gupta, a member of K.M.V. Managing Committee, other esteemed guests present included Surendra Kumari Kochar, Chiranjee Lal, Desh Bhagat Memorial Hall and other luminaries.  

Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, in her address, emphasised that books provide a strong foundation for knowledge, change, and human progress. Discussing General Mohan Singh’s book, she highlighted how it presents comprehensive research on the invaluable contributions made by the soldiers of the Indian National Army during India’s struggle for independence. It is also an important source of information about the bravery and dedication of I.N.A. soldiers and their significant role in the historical narratives connected to India’s independence. 

Chief Guest Chander Mohan spoke about the establishment of the Indian National Army by General Mohan Singh during the Second World War and referred to the information presented in this book as an indispensable part of history. He praised the book’s straightforward style and its inspirational value for young patriots. 

Keynote speaker Dr. Raunki Ram provided scholarly insights into the relevance of the book in the current context. His informative address shed light on the role of I.N.A. soldiers and their importance in the Indian freedom struggle. 

Prof. Chaman Lal, during his speech, commended General Mohan Singh’s efforts in bringing to light lesser-known aspects of the Indian freedom movement through this book and highlighted the significance of releasing such a book in the nationalistic institution like Kanya Maha Vidyalaya. 

Principal expressed her appreciation for the successful organisation of the program by the organising committee and stressed that the release of such an important book in KMV would be highly effective in preserving and promoting India’s rich historical heritage.
