General Insurance Council of India seeks younger person for Secy Gen post
In order to attract a relatively younger person for the post of Secretary General, the General Insurance Council of India has modified its norms for hiring a Secretary General.
Chennai, Aug 31 (IANS) In order to attract a relatively younger person for the post of Secretary General, the General Insurance Council of India has modified its norms for hiring a Secretary General.
Speaking to IANS, an industry official said, the General Insurance Council is calling applications from senior officials in the non-life sector for the post.
In order to attract relatively younger talent, the Council has fixed the maximum age for the applicant as 58 as on 31.7.2022, the salary negotiable and a five year tenure.
Earlier the salary was a fixed sum of Rs.350,000 per month, a three year tenure and the upper age limit was 65.
The reason for changing the eligibility criteria was to attract younger people, the official said.
"A general manager in the public sector non-life company set to retire in a couple of years and not having the prospect of further going up in the ladder can look at the Secretary General post in the Council. Such a person will have a five year tenure and a good salary. The same holds true for a top official in a private non-life insurance company," the official added.
