Gaurav Saini won a cash prize of Rs 11,000 in the FIDE rated chess tournament

Gaurav Saini, a Class IX student of Model School, Ambedkar Chowk made the school proud by winning a cash prize of ₹11,000 at the FIDE Rated Chess Tournament held in Jaipur. He competed in the under-14 category for players rated between 1401–1650 and impressed everyone with his sharp moves and strategic gameplay.

Rohtak, April 30, 2025: Gaurav Saini, a Class IX student of Model School, Ambedkar Chowk made the school proud by winning a cash prize of ₹11,000 at the FIDE Rated Chess Tournament held in Jaipur. He competed in the under-14 category for players rated between 1401–1650 and impressed everyone with his sharp moves and strategic gameplay.

Gaurav attributed his achievement to the constant encouragement given by his parents. His father Rajiv Saini is an officer in the Indian Postal Department and mother Shobha Saini is a professor at the Saini Institute of Education for Girls.

Chairman of Model Education Society and Deputy Commissioner Dhirendra Khadgata, Vice President Ram Avtar Gupta and Secretary Rajesh Kumar Sehgal congratulated Gaurav on his stellar achievement and encouraged him to continue pursuing excellence. Principal Dr. Aruna Taneja welcomed Gaurav warmly, expressing pride in his success for the honour he brought to the school. She inspired him to keep performing with the same spirit in future. Physical education teacher Manju Mohan was also present.
