Gandhi Jayanti celebrated at Boy’s Hostel No. 4

Chandigarh, October 3, 2022: To commemorate Gandhi Jayanti, BH-4 & BH-7 organized a lecture on 'Gandhi as A Role Model for Youth'. On the occasion, resource person was Dr. Manish Sharma, Chairperson, department of Gandhian and Peace studies. The discussion unfolded with a question of resource person that what do you relate with the name 'Gandhi ji'. The discussion forwarded with a thorough discussion and sharing of valuable insights from Gandhi ji life like the incidents of suspension of Chora Chori' movement and racism faced by Gandhi ji in South Africa etc. 

Dr. Naveen kumar, warden, Bh-4 shared his key take aways from the Life of Mahatama Gandhi wherein he discussed that how self management can be of great help in becoming a responsible citizen and self analysis can make one learn to move further in life by accepting one' s mistakes as no one is perfect. Incident of chora chori movement was recalled to make residents understand that at times, leader has to be flexible enough, and it was emphasized that you are already a winner when you don't compromise with your principles and ethics although may be in short run, someone else may perceive that you are a looser. 

The lecture was concluded with a words of thanks by Dr. Naveen kumar wherein he at the outset thanked the dynamic leadership of Prof Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The unflinching support  and guidance of DSW team of Prof. Jagtar Singh,Prof. Roopali Garg and Prof. Ashok Kumar was put on record.
