GADVASU PREMIER LEAGUE (GPL) ORGANISED IN GADVASU HOSTEL

Ludhiana, October 13, 2017: A limited over (10 -10 overs) Cricket Tournament GADVASU Premier League (GPL) organized in hostel No.3 of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana. 11 teams participated in the event. League matches were organized and qualifying teams played semifinals. Final match was played between teams ‘Vet 7’ and ‘Pacifiers’ In which ‘Vet 7’ emerged as GPL champions 2017. To encourage the second year veterinary students (Pacifiers), their girl batch mates from GADVASU girl's hostel also witnessed the final match.

Dr. S. Rampal, Director Students' Welfare, Dr. M.S. Bal, Warden Hostel No. 3, Dr. Digvijay Singh, Warden Hostel no. 9 and Dr. S.S. Sodhi, Security In-Charge distributed the awards/ trophies to winner and runner up teams. Mr. Harinder Singh was adjudged as Man of Tournament due to his consistent performance. Various other awards viz; Best Catch, Best Batsman, Sixer King, Hat Trick Taker and Best Bowler awards were given to Mr. Preetinder, Mr. Avtar singh, Mr. Gagan mann, Mr. Akshay Kumar and Mr. Subhash Singh respectively. Dr. Bal told that such tournaments are organized every year in hostel no. 3 and students are encouraged to involve in sports and extracurricular activities.
