Mohali: Furever Friends, a leading animal rescue organisation from tricity, in association with the Chandigarh Chapter of Bloggers Alliance, has taken an initiative of helping and feeding the underprivileged people, suffering on the roads due to the current national lockdown in view of the Covid-19 crisis. The NGO has joined hands with local administration to provide medical aid, ration, food and other utilities to the less privileged people in the region.

Vikas Luthra, Founder, Furever Friends said, “Our team will be covering most of the areas in Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula and Zirakpur. We will keep in mind the precautions necessary for Coronavirus that is maintaining safe distance with people and wearing masks and gloves. Our team is very enthusiastic to take part in this noble cause. We have been helping out animals for a long time, but I think it is the dire need of the hour to help these poor people suffering on the roads for food during the current lockdown situation. I believe every individual should stand up in this emergency situation and help the needy.”

Furever Friends is arranging 50 protective suits for their volunteers and about 20,000 protective masks, sanitizers and ration packets for the poor people. The food kits contain necessary cooking material like rice, flour, oil, salt and spices. Since Furever Furever is primarily an animal rescue organization, they will also be feeding the hungry street animals, mainly stray dogs.

Narvijay Yadav, President (Chandigarh Chapter) Bloggers Alliance, said, “We are happy to be part of this noble initiative. This is the time of utmost importance when help and support is required at every level, so that our nation comes out victorious in this unfortunate war with the deadly virus. We appeal everyone to feed street dogs of their area. Dogs largely depend on leftovers from restaurants, shops or dustbins. They are now suffering since everything is closed.”
