Full dress rehearsal regarding Republic Day function to be held on Jan 23: DC

Ludhiana:  Deputy Commissioner Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma today informed that the full dress rehearsal regarding district-level Republic Day celebrations would be held at Guru Nanak Stadium, here, on January 23, 2021. A meeting to review the arrangements for the district level Republic Day celebrations slated to take place on January 26 was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana at Bachat Bhawan, here today.

    This meeting was also chaired by ADC (D) Mr Sandeep Kumar, ADC (General) Mr Amarjit Bains, Joint Commissioner of Police Mr J Elanchezhian, all SDMs and head of all government departments.

    Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma informed that in view of Covid 19 pandemic and the government directions, no cultural function or PT show would be organised on the occasion. He also appealed to all city residents to celebrate our Republic Day as a National festival.

    He also urged the residents to attend the celebrations in large numbers as the government has allowed gathering of people for this function with 50% capacity of the Guru Nanak Stadium, Ludhiana. He said all people attending this district level function must be wearing masks and should follow Covid appropriate behaviour.

    He also informed that the function would be broadcast live on the official Facebook page of District Public Relations Officer, Ludhiana, http://www.facebook.com/dproludhianapage/. He said that every officer must ensure that people participating in this function should not face any kind of problem.
