FTCCI-NMDC President’s Cup 2025, an exclusive Cricket League for Industrial Workers, kicks off

Oriana LnCo Advisors, ProArch and Granules India Ltd registered victories on the first day of the cup.

Hyderabad, December 14, 2025: FTCCI-NMDC President’s Cup 2025, an exclusive Cricket League for Industrial Workers, kicked off on Saturday morning and continued late into the evening in the city outskirts at The Pavilion Cricket Ground near Appa Junction. 

The 8 teams compete in a 5-day unique Industrial Cricket League. It was formally launched by Mr Sanjay Kumar, Asst Commissioner of Police, Saifabad, in the presence of Mr R Ravikumar, President and Srinivas Garimella, Vice President of FTCCI.  Cricket is a gentleman's game. It is a religion in our country.  Enjoy the sport and have great sportsmanship, he told the participants.

On the first day, three matches were held.  The opening match was held between Granules India Limited and Macromedia Fusion XI.  Macromedia won the toss and elected to field. Granules made 239 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.  In reply, Macromedia could make only 90 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in just 16.3 overs. Granules India won convincingly by 149 runs.

The second match was played between ProArch and Truzon Solar. ProArch, which batted first, made 17 for six in 18 overs.  In reply, Truzon Solar could make 86 runs for the loss of ten wickets in 16.5 overs.  In the second match, ProArch won by 111 runs.

The third match was a nail-biting match. Both teams, NMDC Corporate XI and Oriana Lnco Advisors, gave a tough fight to each other.  In the end, Oriana LnCo Advisors won by 7 wickets.  NMDC made 111 for 9 in 18 overs, and Oriana made 114 for the loss of 3 wickets in 12.5 overs. 

The Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) is a 108-year-old, one of India's most vibrant regional chambers.  It initiated the first-ever Cricket League Exclusively for the Industrial Workforce last year.  The President’s Cup is in its second edition. 

An Industrial Cricket League matters a lot as it strengthens camaraderie among companies, creating a shared platform for collaboration beyond boardrooms. It promotes employee wellness, team spirit, leadership, and a healthy work–life balance—essential for today’s high-pressure corporate environment. Such tournaments help reduce workplace stress, improve productivity, and foster a sense of belonging within organisations. It brings together diverse industries, nurturing relationships that often translate into partnerships, networking opportunities, and business growth. Sport has the power to unite—an Industrial Cricket League showcases the human side of industries, where teamwork and fair play stand above competition, Ravi Kumar said. 

We have received an overwhelming response, but due to paucity of time, we had to restrict it to 8 teams. Going forward, we will expand it to 12 teams in the coming years, said Mr Ravi Kumar, President of FTCCI.

It is a Round Robin League cricket tournament that will be held for five days starting from December 13, 14, 20, 21 and 28. 

FTCCI’s President Cup 2025 features 8 teams, such as 1. NMDC Limited 2. MPL Group 3. Macro Media Digital Imaging Private Limited 4. Sudhakar PVC Products Pvt Ltd 5. Oriana Solar Energy Private Ltd by Lano Advisors LLP 6. ProArch: IT Consulting Service 7. Truzon Solar by Suntek 8. Granules India Ltd. They are formed into 2 Groups and will have 4 Cups and 4 Matches
