From now on, N95 mask and PPE Kits to be supplied only after getting them checked from committee: Civil Surgeon

Ludhiana:    Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga has informed that after the doctors and para medical staff of Civil Hospital Ludhiana raised an issue related to N95 masks in the media, a meeting was held in which issue related to the quality of N95 masks and PPE kits was discussed.
    Dr Bagga stated that this issue was raised only by the doctors and para medical staff of Civil Hospital Ludhiana. He clarified that all this medical material is being supplied from state level and these PPE kits are approved by SITRA and N95 masks by DRDO.
    He said that the doctors and para medical staff have said that in view of the N95 masks, their strings should be adjustable and should not have side respirator valves. He informed that the committee would check quality of such products thoroughly in the future and it would be supplied to the staff only when the committee approves them so that no person faces any problem.
