From mischief to kindness: On Janmashtami cast of Sony SAB’s Hastinapur Ke Veer reveal the young actor who is most like Kanha on set

Mumbai, September 2, 2026: Sony SAB’s Hastinapur Ke Veer brings alive the legendary world of the Kauravas and Pandavas, with its young cast adding their own energy and charm to the show. This Janmashtami, the show’s senior actors Kunti (Toral Rasputra), Dronacharya (Jiten Lalwani) and Gandhari (Vivana Singh) reveal which young member of the cast they feel is the most ‘Kanha-like’ on set.
From playful mischief and curiosity to the ability to make everyone around them smile, the young actors have their own little Kanha-like qualities. Here’s who the senior cast members feel brings that spirit to life on the sets of Hastinapur Ke Veer.
Toral Rasputra, who essays Kunti, shares, “I would say Harit Gabani, who plays Nakul, is my Kanha on set. He is very quiet at first, but once he gets comfortable, his playful side comes out. There are times when I see him quietly teasing the other kids or making them laugh when they are supposed to be getting ready for a scene. He also has this very innocent way of getting away with his little mischief! That combination of innocence and naughtiness reminds me of Kanha.”
Jiten Lalwani, who essays Dronacharya, shares, “I think Urva Savalia, who plays Arjun, has a very Kanha-like quality. He has a sweet face and an innocent charm about him, which reminds me of how we imagine young Krishna. Beyond his looks, Urva is also very playful and has a natural innocence about him. At the same time, I would say Subhash, who plays Bheem, also has that mischievous side. Off screen, he is always having fun with the younger kids and even picks them up and plays around with them. Mayank Yadav, who plays Sahdev, is another one who can be quite mischievous and keeps everyone entertained. And I was noticing that Nakul is also incredibly sweet and naughty at the same time. He is very intelligent and a wonderful actor as well. So, there are actually quite a few little Kanhas on our set!”
Vivana Singh, who essays Gandhari, shares, “Aayudh Bhanushali, who plays Duryodhan and Subhash, who plays Bheem, definitely come to mind when I think of Kanha on our set. They are full of energy and always has something to say. Sometimes, when we are waiting between shots, they start chatting with everyone or find a way to make the other children laugh. Both are also very fond of having fun with the people around him. On screen Aayudh and Bheem also have to be very serious as Duryodhan and Bheem, but off screen they are such playful kids, and that mischievous side of theirs is what reminds me of Kanha.”
