From Free India to Kind India — CT Group Marks 79th Independence with 79 Acts of Kindness

Jalandhar, August 14, 2025: Commemorating the 79th Independence of India, CT Group undertook 79 Acts of Kindness under the central theme “From Free India to Kind India”. Through initiatives like plantation drives, sanitary pads distribution, sanitation drives, book donations, stationery distribution, and health check-ups, along with many other efforts, these individual contributions accumulated into a remarkable total of 79 acts, symbolizing 79 years of India’s independence. These acts celebrated freedom by turning the spirit of independence into tangible, meaningful action for society.

The initiatives were launched by the esteemed management, including Chairman Charanjit Singh Channi, Co-chairperson Parminder Kaur, Managing Director Dr. Manbir Singh, Joint Managing Director Tanika Channi, Vice-Chairman Harpreet Singh, Executive Director Dr. Nitin Tandon, Director Campus Sangram Singh, Director of Admissions Dr. Vaneet Thakur, and Dean Student Welfare Dr. Arjun.

Over the course of three days, students organized and participated in group-led activities such as plantation drives, book donation, sanitation drives, health check-up camps, sanitary pad distribution, stationery distribution, campus decoration, and more. NCC cadets played a pivotal role in aiding these drives, complementing the overall mission with their discipline and commitment.

What made these acts unique was not only their execution but also the reflection and learning they encouraged. Students engaged in discussions on why each activity was undertaken — why plantation is vital for environmental balance, why urban sanitation matters, how book and stationery donations can bridge educational gaps, and why sustainable practices are crucial for the nation’s future. These drives touched every segment of society, fostering the values of sustainability, kindness, and the spirit of giving.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Charanjit Singh Channi said, “True independence is when we use our freedom to serve, uplift, and inspire others. These 79 Acts of Kindness reflect the soul of our nation — compassionate, resilient, and united.”

Managing Director Dr. Manbir Singh added, “Our aim was not just to celebrate Independence Day, but to give our students the opportunity to experience the power of small acts in creating large impacts. From Free India to Kind India — this is the journey we must all contribute to.”
