Ludhiana, September 25, 2026: A Fresher's Party and Talent Hunt competition were organized for the newly admitted students of the 2026-27 session at Satguru Ram Singh Government Polytechnic College, Rishi Nagar.
The event commenced with the chief guest, College Principal Er. Manoj Kumar Jambla, lighting the ceremonial lamp. The function officially began with the students chanting a Shabad (sacred hymn). Following this, Principal Er. Manoj Kumar Jambla welcomed all the faculty members and students, stating in his address that technical education plays a vital role in students' lives. He emphasized that alongside academics, students must participate in cultural activities to further refine their talents. He also noted that the college is progressing leaps and bounds with the mutual cooperation of the staff and students.
Kulwinder Singh (SRC President and Head of Department) and Harneet Kaur (SRC Secretary and Lecturer) shared that a Miss and Mr. Farewell competition would also be featured during the event. Students presented a vibrant cultural program including folk songs, dances, skits, choreography, Giddha, and Bhangra. Rupinder Kaur (Head of Department) and Jasvir Singh (Workshop Superintendent) successfully managed the stage coordination duties.
Among the participants, Miss Chanchal (GMT 1st Year) was crowned Miss Farewell, while Sukhdeep Kaur (FD 1st Year) and Mehak Sharma (FD 1st Year) secured the 1st Runner-Up and 2nd Runner-Up positions respectively. Gurpreet Singh (ECE LEET 2nd Year) won the title of Mr. Farewell, followed by Sourav (IT 1st Year) as the 1st Runner-Up and Yuvraj (IT 1st Year) as the 2nd Runner-Up.
At the conclusion of the event, College Principal Manoj Kumar Jambla distributed prizes to the winners. The event was attended by Jaspreet Kaur (Head of Department), Kulwinder Singh (Head of Department, CSE), Sukhvinderpal Singh (Head of Department), Rupinder Kaur (Head of Department), Kanu Sharma (Head of Department), Singh (Head of Department, Workshop), Harneet Kaur (SRC Secretary), and the entire college staff.
