Hyderabad, June 18, 2023: Freemasons of Telangana organised a Walk for Values on Sunday morning on Tank Bund.  It was a novel and unique walk.  It was rare to organise a walk on such an important, very useful subject.

A.K.Sharma, the Grand Master,  the Head of 293 years old Freemasonry in India flagged off the kilometre walk to highlight the importance of values in our society. It was kick-started at Rotary Park, near the Swami Vivekananda statue(as Swami Vivekananda was a member of Freemasonry) on the Hussain Sagar Bund.  200 members, their spouses and family members took part.

The walk was organised simultaneously in 150 masonic centres in India at the same time. It was organized on the eve of Universal Brotherhood Day which is observed each year by Freemasons across the world on June 24 to commemorate the spirit of Masonic brotherhood said AK Sharma, Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of India.

Freemasonry is a Moral-building organization, A.K. Sharma added.

Freemasons were holding placards of values such as Brotherly Love, Relief, Truth, Faith, Hope, Charity, Temperance, Fortitude, Prudence, Justice, Virtue, Honour, Mercy, Wisdom, Strength, Beauty, Secrecy, Fidelity, Obedience, Courtesy, Benevolence, Gratitude, Duty, Kindness, Affability taught in Freemasonry and marched on the tank bund for about a kilometre.

Low moral values are creating unrest and turmoil in our society. Honest are struggling and facing hardships. When moral values are fading and there is a fast decline in moral values in these times, a walk on values is just a reminder that it is a time we keep our moral values high and spread happiness all around, the release added.

Freemasonry is a very unique organization. It is a very silent organisation.  It traces its roots in India in 1730 when officers of the East India Company held their meetings in Fort William in Calcutta. It is a 293-year-old organisation in India.
