Chandigarh, April 10, 2024: Government Home Science College organized a free Multi-speciality Health Camp in collaboration with Fortis Hospital, Mohali. 

The camp was conducted with an endeavour to provide the students and staff with an access to expert medical consultations and guidance across various specialties including Physiotherapy, Internal Medicine and Gynaecology.. The camp witnessed a footfall of approximately 100 participants. They availed the benefit of free consultation, Blood sugar testing and other vitals checking. The health camp featured a distinguished panel of doctors. Patients had the opportunity to interact with these specialists, receive personalized advice, and gain insights into managing their health conditions effectively. 

Dr. Manjeet S. Trehan, with over three decades of experience in cardiology, shared his knowledge on various aspects of heart health, while Dr. Sunita Chandra, gynaecologist, provided valuable insights into reproductive medicine. Additionally, Dr. Priyanka, an expert physiotherapist, offered guidance on restoring mobility and function through evidence-based treatment methods. The health camp aimed to raise awareness about prevalent health issues and empower individuals to take proactive steps towards better health and well-being. Participants expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to consult with leading medical professionals and gain valuable insights into managing their health effectively. 

Dr Sonia Gandhi, Senior Dietitian at Fortis Hospital, Mohali also visited the campus and interviewed various students for providing internship and placement opportunities to the students. 

Principal of the college, Prof. Sudha Katyal, expressed gratitude to the visiting doctors for their dedication and commitment to contribute to community health. She commended their efforts in providing quality healthcare services and encouraged attendees to take their advice seriously and prioritise their health.
