Ludhiana, March 31, 2014: A free Mega Medical & Heart Check up Camp was organised by Hero DMC Heart Institute at RSD Raj Rattan Public School, Ferozepur city on Sunday.

Team of doctors Including Dr.G.S Wander Chief cardiologist (HDHI), Dr.Rohit Tandon & Dr.Rakendra examined around 600 patients at the camp.
According to Dr.G.S Wander- Camps have always been very popular in India, for all types of medical conditions including Cardiac related problems. Originally , the purpose of the camps was to provide medical services to poor patients who lived in remote areas where medical facilities were not available. Rather than forcing patients to travel to cities in order to get medical care, it made more sense for teams of doctors to travel to villages , where medical services could be provided to these patients at their doorstep. This was a very cost-effective way of delivering medical care, and allowed thousands of patients to be treated effectively.
Camp was organised at very large scale with emphasis on prevention as the incident of heart attacks are increasing at an alarming rate in India & Younger population is becoming more vulnerable to the heart diseases.
During the camp, consultants offered expert opinion and guidance for minimizing and managing the risk of heart attack for free. The aim of the camp is not only to spread awareness on the heart disease but also to help individuals detect and treat cardiac issues.
Diagnostic tests like ECG, Blood Sugar, Blood Pressure check was conducted free of cost along with free medicines.
