Fourth World Cup Kabaddi/Indian Kabaddi Team defeats Spain 55-27

Hoshiarpur, December 3, 2013: USA today registered decisive win by crushing Kenya 68 – 13 whereas Indian eves maintained their winning campaign by crushing Kenyan eves by  56– 21. The most thrilling match was that was India and Spain where Indian team defeated Spain by 55 – 27.
The fourth World Cup Kabaddi was inaugurated by Education Minister Sikander Singh Maluka at outdoor stadium Hoshiarpur and he was introduced to the players of all the participating teams. Madan Mohan Mittal Industry and Commerce Minister, Tikshan Sood adviser to the CM. Tanu Kashyap Deputy Commissioner were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Sikander Singh Maluka said that due to the efforts of the Punjab Government Kabaddi has now got International status and it is because of the Punjab government that 20 teams of 14 countries are participating in this tournament. He said that Punjab is laying more stress on sports and budget of Sports department has been enhanced to Rupees 142 crores from the earlier budget of 12 cores. He said that Punjab has enhanced the prize money for Olympic Gold Winner to Rs. 2.5 crores from Re.1 crore.
Announcing holiday in all Schools on December 4, Maluka said that all Schools in Punjab would remain closed on December 04, as Punjab has bagged overall trophy in National School Games held at Bathinda.
