The ill-fated bus which was badly smashed following collision with a truck in Ferozepur today.

Ferozepur, November 7, 2017: Four persons died and several others were injured following a collision between a truck and Punjab Roadways bus near Village Kari Kalan on Ferozepur-Fazilka road in Ferozepur. As per information available the accident took place today morning at around 8.00 am. The bus started its journey at 7.20 am and 22 passengers boarded the bus. As soon as the bus reached near Village Kari Kalan, the accident took place. As per the eyewitnesses, the driver of the bus wanted to overtake but due to dense fog, he could not spot the heavy truck which was coming from opposite direction. The impact proved fatal and both the driver of the bus identified as Paramjit Singh (40) and the driver of the truck Buta Singh (35) died on the spot. Two other persons identified as Sudhir Grover, who was working as music teacher at Govt. Girls Sr. Sec. School, Guruharsahai and Arjan Singh, who was working as a teacher at ITI Jalalabad, succumbed to injuries.
The other injured persons were identified as Baljinder Singh (Conductor of the bus), Manpreet Kaur, Surinder Kumar, Amritpal Singh, Sukhjinder Singh, Gourav Chopra and Rakesh Kumar who were admitted in different hospitals.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh announced an ex-gratia of Rs 1 Lakh each for the deceased.
