Foundation day of ICCR celebrated at PU

Chandigarh, April 9, 2019: The Indian Council for Culture Relations (ICCR) in collaboration with Office of Dean International Students organised its Foundation Day, here today.

Professor Karamjit Singh, Registrar PU in his address as Chief Guest said that such cultural interactions are an opportunity for the foreign students specially to learn and disseminate the information as the ambassador of PU. While citing Ramayan and Mahabharata, he stressed that there is lot to learn from it for life and relationships. He said that every culture of the society has the positive side of it for learning and from learning you gain wisdom. He stressed on the need of becoming a good human being.

"Myths and Legends are a key to understand Indian society and culture" was the topic of talk by Dr. Priyatosh Sharma, Department of History , PU.

Nalini Singhal , Regional Director ICCR informed that ICCR is all about communion of cultures, creative dialogue with other Nations and it facilitates the interaction with world cultures. The council strive to articulate and demonstrate the diversity and richness of cultures of India both within and out of the world. The council prides itself on being a preeminent institution engaged in cultural diplomacy and sponsor of intellectual exchanges between India and partner countries it is the Council resolve to continue to symbolize India's great culture and educational effervescence in the
years to come

A short film on ICCR , that was filmed on the occasion. There was also a spectacular performance of Bharatanatyam by well-known dancer Suchitra Mitra.
