Fortis Ludhiana Strengthens Emergency Care Infrastructure; Introduces Free Ambulance Services within 6 Kms of Fortis Ludhiana Hospitals

Ludhiana, July 31, 2026: Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana has strengthened its emergency response network with the launch of two Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)-ready ambulances and the introduction of free ambulance services within a 6 km radius of both Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana and Fortis Hospital, Mall Road. The ambulances were flagged off by Principal Inderjit Kaur, Mayor of Ludhiana and Dr. Ramandeep Kaur, Civil Surgeon, Ludhiana, at Fortis Hospital, Mall Road. The initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing emergency care and ensuring rapid medical intervention during the critical "Golden Hour," when timely treatment can significantly improve patient outcomes.
As part of the initiative, patients experiencing medical emergencies within a 6 km radius of Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana and Fortis Hospital, Mall Road will be able to avail free ambulance services, enabling faster access to advanced clinical care during the critical Golden Hour.
Speaking at the launch, Principal Inderjit Kaur, Mayor, Ludhiana, said, "Timely access to emergency medical care can make the difference between life and death. Strengthening emergency response infrastructure through advanced ambulances and expanding access to quality healthcare services is a significant step towards building a healthier and safer Ludhiana. Initiatives such as free ambulance services will greatly benefit residents especially those in need, by ensuring faster medical assistance when every minute counts."

The emergency departments across both Fortis hospitals are supported by an Emergency Medicine team comprising of 12  doctors, under the CCT/EM postgraduate training programme, ensuring round-the-clock availability of trained emergency physicians. The hospitals  also feature dedicated arterial blood gas (ABG) testing, digital X-ray systems, bedside echocardiography and ultrasound services, isolation rooms equipped with dialysis facilities, dedicated resuscitation rooms for immediate life-saving interventions, and adjoining radiology departments to facilitate rapid diagnosis without interrupting patient care.
