Fortis Ludhiana, Mall Road Marks World Cancer Day with ‘Seeds of Hope’ Tree Plantation Drive

Ludhiana, February 4, 2026: Reinforcing its commitment to cancer awareness, prevention and sustainable healthcare, Fortis Hospital, Mall Road, Ludhiana, organised a tree plantation drive at Bharat Nagar Chowk on the occasion of World Cancer Day. The event was organised on the theme “Seeds of Hope for a Cancer-Free Tomorrow,” symbolising the need to nurture life, protect environment and spread awareness about preventive healthcare. The drive focused on building healthier environment, promoting ecological balance and reducing long-term disease burden.”
The plantation drive aimed to highlight the strong link between environmental well-being and public health, particularly in the context of rising cancer incidence linked to air pollution, environmental toxins, and lifestyle factors. Trees play a crucial role in improving air quality, reducing exposure to harmful pollutants, and creating healthier living spaces, factors that contribute significantly to cancer prevention and overall well-being.
Several doctors, staff members and volunteers were dressed in purple colour to symbolize solidarity in the fight against cancer. They also took a pledge while reinforcing their commitment towards a healthier, cancer-free tomorrow. Through this initiative, Fortis Ludhiana continues to strengthen its mission of combining medical excellence with social responsibility.
