Fortis Hospital of Kangra becomes first private hospital in Himachal Pradesh to provide telemedicine facility

Dharamshala, January 21, 2023: Fortis Hospital has become the first private hospital in Himachal Pradesh to start telemedicine service.

Giving information on telemedicine, Dr SS Parmar, Medical Superintendent of Fortis Hospital Kangra said, "Now through WhatsApp video call, patients will be able to consult specialist doctors sitting at home, through telemedicine service, from prescription to medical advice and reports, check-up facility will be available from Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm."

He said in a press briefing in Dharamsala on Saturday that one will not have to visit the hospital every time for doctor's advice, check-up, showing reports and changing medicines. With the telemedicine system of treatment, patients will now be able to take advantage of all these facilities while sitting at home.

With the introduction of this service from today, the  patients will now be able to consult specialist doctors sitting at home, show reports as well as take advice about medicines. This facility is being provided along with the normal hospital charges. This will save patients' time as well as avoid travel expenses and hassle.

Dr Parmar also informed that patients can avail this facility from 9 am to 5 pm.
