Ludhiana, April 13, 2016: In an attempt to engage the youth with the rich heritage and culture of Punjab, Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana organised a cultural festival “Baisakhi”. Prominent folk artist, educationists, students and residents of Ludhiana participated in the programme.
Mr.Vivan Singh Gill Facility Director Fortis Hospital, Ludhiana said that with the span of time, the youth of this culturally rich state is forgetting its heritage. The society has made an attempt to work as a bond between the youth and the culture of Punjab.
The dance competitions of bhangra, gidda and jhoomer attracted a huge applause as the patients and their relatives also joined into celebration of the festival of harvesting season in the state. Punjabi delicacies, including jalebies and pakodas, were also enjoyed by the crowd.
Participants came in colourful traditional dresses and danced on Punjabi folk songs.
The place was decorated with "jhoola" (swing) at one corner and beautiful traditional flowers all over the place, the theme at the venue spoke of a true rustic charm. Furthermore, performance of the Giddha group enthralled the audience.
Also present on the occasion were Fortis Hospital Ludhiana doctors, staff members, patients and their attendants.
