Fortis Hospital Jalandhar Hosts State-Level CME on Dialysis

Jalandhar, April 7, 2026: Fortis Hospital Jalandhar successfully organized a comprehensive Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on ‘Dialysis’ in collaboration with the Indian Association of Dialysis Technologists (IADT) and Continuous Dialysis Education Programme - Punjab Chapter. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 150 dialysis technicians, along with eminent nephrologists and healthcare professionals from  Punjab, making it one of the largest academic gatherings in the region focused on dialysis care.
The Continuous Dialysis Education Programme (CDEP) is aimed at enhancing clinical knowledge, improving patient safety, and standardizing dialysis practices across healthcare institutions. The CME served as a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange between nephrologists, dialysis technologists, and clinical experts. The scientific sessions covered a wide spectrum of critical topics including renal replacement therapy options, vascular access in hemodialysis, quality improvement in dialysis units, infection control practices, and transition protocols from dialysis to transplant.
A dedicated panel discussion on “Ensuring Safety in Dialysis Units” highlighted best practices in infection prevention, hepatitis control, and patient-centered care. Leading Nephrologists and Dialysis Technologists shared their insights and practical experiences, emphasizing the importance of continuous training and adherence to protocols to improve patient outcomes. The sessions were highly interactive, encouraging participants to engage in discussions and share on-ground challenges faced in dialysis units.
Speaking at the CME, Dr. Rajeev Bhatia, Director & Senior Consultant Nephrology said, “At Fortis Hospital Jalandhar, we are committed to world class Dialysis services by integrating advanced technologies and global best practices. Our dialysis unit is equipped with comprehensive modalities including Hemodiafiltration (HDF), low flux and high flux dialysis, along with the use of medium cut-off dialysers, ensuring superior toxin clearance and better patient outcomes. Importantly, the use of ultra-pure water across all dialysis procedures significantly enhances safety standards and reduces complications. Through continuous upskilling initiatives like this CME, we aim to further elevate the quality of dialysis care across the region.”
Dr. Ankush Mehta, Facility Director, Fortis Hospital Jalandhar, said, “At Fortis Hospital, Jalandhar, we are proud to offer a comprehensive spectrum of Renal Replacement Therapies under one roof.
