Ludhiana, February 11, 2026: Fortis Hospital, Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana, announced the launch of the ‘Sarpanch Suvidha Health Card’ during a meet organised at the hospital where 200 sarpanches partcipated. The initiative was supported by Cabinet Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian, Minister for Revenue, Rehabilitation & Disaster Management, Water Supply & Sanitation, and Housing & Urban Development, Government of Punjab.
The newly introduced health card is designed to provide enhanced medical benefits to Sarpanches and their immediate family members, ensuring easier and more structured access to comprehensive healthcare services. The programme also focuses on encouraging preventive health check-ups and early diagnosis at the community leadership level.
The launch meeting witnessed participation from Panchayat representatives from across the region and highlighted the importance of empowering grassroots leaders with reliable and timely healthcare support. As part of the initiative rollout, the hospital also organised a free medical camp offering comprehensive health screenings for attendees. During the camp, Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian actively participated by undergoing a medical check-up and encouraged community leaders to prioritise routine health assessments. He emphasised that preventive care and early detection play a critical role in improving long-term health outcomes and building healthier communities.
