Former IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel Inaugurates CMR University Cricket Stadium and Gymnasium, Inspiring a New Era of Sports Excellence

Bengaluru, August 24, 2023: CMR University set a remarkable precedent in merging academia and athletics with the distinguished inauguration of its state-of-the-art Cricket Stadium and Gymnasium at its Lakeside Campus at Bagalur. The new sports infrastructure was inaugurated by the esteemed former IPL Chairman and legendary Cricketer, Brijesh Patel. 

During the inauguration, Patel delivered an inspiring address to the gathering. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a delicate equilibrium between academic pursuits and sports excellence. Mr. Patel underlined that students need to strike a balance between their studies and their passion for sports, as both contribute significantly to their overall growth and character building. Karnataka has produced excellent cricketers in the likes of Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, Javagal Srinath, Venkatesh Prasad who are stellar examples of individuals who excelled in the sport while holding prestigious degrees in their respective academic disciplines.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including; Dr. Sabitha Ramamurthy, Chancellor; Shri KR Jayadeep, Pro Chancellor; Dr. H B Raghavendra, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Subbareddy, Pro Vice Chancellor; and Dr. Praveen, Registrar.
