Former IAS Officers visit Harvest Campus

Ludhiana: During the preceding week, i.e.from 3rd March to 7th March, the twin Harvest institutions – Harvest Tennis Academy and Harvest International School, located in Jassowal-Kular, Tehsil Jagraon, Ludhiana, had  the rare privilege of playing host to distinguished guests in the form of five senior former IAS officers, along with their wives.

As part of their visit, the guests interacted with the senior staff, including the Principal and were very much appreciative of the vision behind the Harvest International School and Harvest Tennis Academy and the facilities being provided therein. They, along with their spouses, appreciated the culture, besides donning traditional attires and dancing to the beats of Punjabi folk music.

Much to the delight of the staff, management and students of the Harvest institutions, there were sterling compliments received from the eminent personalities. Amongst these, one of them, Mr. Sunder Mulchandani, a well-known name in the Indian aviation industry, (who hasdone phenomenal work in the aviation sector) commended the school by saying, “This campus reminds me of the axiom: what you can imagine, you can achieve! It has state-of-the-art modern infrastructure; it is a model institution.”

Adding to this, Mr. Suresh Sundareshan, (IAS), ex-Secretary Petroleum, Government of India(2010) praised the place in exquisite words by saying, “The campus has been conceptualised beyond what one could expect, disseminating quality education despite being located in a remote area. Applaud the efforts to provide world class infrastructure in a distant place to local community to make students global citizens.”

Further, Mr. Pradeep Misra, (IAS), former Secretary, Steel, Government of India(2010) encouraged the management and staff by remarking, “The campus has a salubrious setting, intimately intertwined with nature, where students come and learn; living close to nature, learning how it sustains us.”

Moreover, Mr Ashok Khurana, (IAS), currently working as Director General, All India Private Power Producers’s Association lauded the efforts of the brains behind the institution, in this way, “The campus is a nursery of academic and sporting excellence in a far-flung area, with a learned faculty. All this has happened because of the dedication and vision of the two brothers, Mr Harvey and Mr Hardeepak, the persons behind the institution, who have been inspired with the idea of giving back to the place where they were born. One can say looking at this - no dream is too big!”

Along with the afore-mentioned eminent personalities, others who graced the campus with their august presence wereMR RK Singh, (IAS), ex-CEO ESPN India(2010) and Mr Hardeepak Singh, (IAS), who has served in the PMO office, in addition to remaining a member of the prestigious Golden Quadrilateral Project of India.

Their significant others also visited ITI, Jassowal, where they had a fruitful interaction with the girl students. They went around the institution and enquired in depth about the thirteen trades being taught there.

Mention has also to be made of how succinctly, Ms. Sangeeta (who is herself an educationist), shared her evaluation of the campus when she said, “Children of the school are scaling great heights; the school has come up very well. The ITI will help girl students become self-reliant, enabling them to display their work in markets situated as far as New Delhi, let’s say.” At the same time, Harvest has been proud to receive wonderful accolades from Ms.Poonam who had glowing words for Harvest, “Will recommend the school to others, people here are nice, innocent and there is purity around.”

Airing similar views, Ms. Reena, who was quite impressed by the facilities available at hand, said,“ Amazing infrastructure, dedicated staff, impressive work by all! Ms. Sandhya was quite generous with her laudation, saying, “A fabulous institution! The school and the academy are better than many schools established in Delhi, offering world class amenities to local community, making one think of the adage‘If you educate a girl , you educate a village,’. She offered to provide for market for goods produced by ITI girl students.

A token of appreciation was presented to the esteemed guests by the Director Campus. At all times, Covid-19 SOP and protocol were adhered to in letter and spirit during the period of their stay as well as visit.
