Former ED Deputy Director Niranjan Singh and former DSP Balwinder Singh Sekhon join Akali Dal “Waris Punjab De”

Chandigarh, September 23, 2026: Akali Dal "Waris Punjab De" gave a new turn to Punjab's political equations today by intensifying its political activities in the state. Today, during an induction program held in Chandigarh, the senior leadership of Akali Dal "Waris Punjab De" including Bapu Tarsem Singh, Manpreet Singh Ayali, and Bhai Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa, inducted former Deputy Director of Enforcement Directorate (ED) Niranjan Singh and former Punjab Police DSP Balwinder Singh Sekhon into Akali Dal “Waris Punjab De”.

Niranjan Singh has investigated crucial high-profile cases related to drug trafficking and money laundering in Punjab. In past, Niranjan Singh has also been publicly voicing his views regarding drug issue and illegal money-laundering cases in Punjab. He boldly spoke out about Punjab’s drug smuggling networks and associated issues during his service as well as after his retirement. Alongside this, while fighting against corruption, Niranjan Singh raised awareness among the public with the support of several organizations. He has always strived to eradicate the disease of corruption, which has infected the government system like a termite.

Balwinder Singh Sekhon has served as a DSP in Punjab Police. He has been publicly raising his voice regarding drug issues in Punjab. Apart from this, while Balwinder Singh Sekhon has consistently raised his voice on river water issues, he has also been actively working toward water conservation and saving water from pollution.

Welcoming both personalities, Bapu Tarsem Singh said that their administrative experience and understanding of Punjab’s key issues will help give a new direction to party activities. Bapu Tarsem Singh stated that today the caravan of Akali Dal "Waris Punjab De" is growing continuously. He added that the joining of bold and honest personalities holding vast experience across various fields proves that Punjab has made up its mind, and this time the Sangat (public) of Punjab is going to choose its true custodians (Waris).

Senior party leader Manpreet Singh Ayali said that keeping core issues at the center such as Punjab’s youth, farmers, traders, water rights, state rights, and the drug menace, the voice of Punjab will be raised with even greater strength. Ayali said that this induction is a major political step in Punjab's regional politics and that the party will further accelerate its organizational activities in the coming time. Ayali added that today Punjab is ready to become a guiding light for nation politics. Raising voice for state rights and minority rights, as well as fixing the accountability of political leadership by bringing serious issues like drugs and corruption into the public court, are the primary agenda of the organization.

On this occasion, Bhai Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa appealed to the Sangat, the Panth, and the people of Punjab to join Akali Dal Waris Punjab De. Bhai Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa stated that accountable leadership is the main requirement today. An atmosphere of instability has been created due to the growing mistrust between the public and governments. He added that institutions connected with the Panth are facing continuous erosion.

On this occasion, the entire senior leadership was present, including Bhai Mandeep Singh, Bhai Jaskaran Singh Kahansingh Wala, Bhai Sukhwinder Singh Agwan, Babu Singh Brar, Kabil Singh, and Paramjit Singh Johal.
