Former Councillors Sarabjit Singh Kaka, Surinder Sharma and Pankaj Sharma Return to BJP; AAP’s Rajesh Arora Also Joins Party
Former councillors Sarabjit Singh Kaka and Surinder Sharma, along with Pankaj Sharma, Ajay Goswami and Kuldeep Sharma, returned to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Ludhiana on Saturday.
Ludhiana, August 22, 2026: Former councillors Sarabjit Singh Kaka and Surinder Sharma, along with Pankaj Sharma, Ajay Goswami and Kuldeep Sharma, returned to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Ludhiana on Saturday.
In another setback to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Rajesh Arora, who represents Ward No. 84, also joined the BJP.
The leaders joined the BJP in the presence of Punjab BJP Treasurer Gurdev Sharma Debi and under the leadership of Ludhiana BJP District President Sunil Moudgil. BJP leaders and workers welcomed the new entrants and congratulated them on joining the party.
Sunil Moudgil said it was a matter of happiness for the organisation that former colleagues had returned to the BJP family, influenced by the party’s nationalist ideology, the development work being carried out in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP’s welfare-oriented policies.
He said the experience and active involvement of the returning leaders would further strengthen the party organisation in Ludhiana.
Punjab BJP Treasurer Gurdev Sharma Debi said the BJP was an organisation where every worker was given respect and responsibility. He said the return of Sarabjit Singh Kaka, Surinder Sharma, Pankaj Sharma, Ajay Goswami and Kuldeep Sharma would further strengthen the BJP’s support base.
Former district BJP president Parveen Bansal, Harish Tandon, District General Secretaries Dr Kanika Jindal and Yashpal Janotra, Vice-President Harsh Sharma, Secretary Satnam Singh Sethi, Sardar Taranjit Singh, former councillor Yashpal Chaudhary, Neeraj Verma, Circle President Deepak Johar and other party office-bearers were also present on the occasion.
