Forestry Students Excel in National Examinations

The students of the College of Forestry, Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, have once again brought laurels to the institution by delivering outstanding performances in prestigious national-level competitive examinations.

Leading the achievers is Jaynendra Shukla, an MSc student in Silviculture and Agroforestry, who has secured All India Rank 1 (AIR 1) in the Indian Council of Agricultural Research Senior Research Fellowship (ICAR SRF) Examination in his discipline. This remarkable success continues the university’s proud legacy, as students from the College of Forestry have consistently secured the top national rank in Silviculture and Agroforestry for the third consecutive year.

Several other students from the Department of Silviculture and Agroforestry also excelled in the ICAR SRF Examination. Gurdeep secured AIR 19, Yachna attained AIR 21 and Kashish AIR 24. Shivali, Gauri and Alisha, also cleared ICAR SRF with the top 40 ranks, highlighting the department’s strong academic foundation.

The success was not limited to one department. Garima and Prashant, postgraduate students of Basic Sciences, along with Ankit Kumar, Nikita, and Sakshi  Thakur from the Department of Social Sciences, also cleared the ICAR SRF Examination. Additionally, Gurdeep and Yachna from Silviculture and Agroforestry cleared the UGC NET examination, alongside Riya Sen and Shriya from the Department of Soil Science and Water Management. Titiksha from the Department of Basic Sciences added further pride to the university by qualifying both GATE and UGC NET.

Congratulating the achievers, University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajeshwar Singh Chandel lauded the hard work of the students and the dedicated mentoring provided by the faculty. Dr. C.L. Thakur, Dean of the College of Forestry, along with faculty members and fellow students, also extended their congratulations and best wishes to the successful candidates.
