Food Safety on Wheels Conducts Food Quality Inspection and Hygiene Awareness Drive at Daba Road
Under the visionary leadership and guidance of Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, the District Administration, Ludhiana, continued its commitment to ensuring safe, hygienic, and quality food through a Food Safety on Wheels inspection and awareness drive conducted at Daba Road on Monday.
Ludhiana, July 27, 2026: Under the visionary leadership and guidance of Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, the District Administration, Ludhiana, continued its commitment to ensuring safe, hygienic, and quality food through a Food Safety on Wheels inspection and awareness drive conducted at Daba Road on Monday.
During the inspection, the Food Safety Team collected and tested three food samples—Paneer, Khoya Barfi, and Milk Cake using the Food Safety on Wheels mobile food testing laboratory. Of the three samples tested, one sample conformed to the prescribed food safety standards, while two samples failed the quality tests. Test reports were issued immediately on-site to the concerned Food Business Operators, ensuring transparency and enabling timely corrective action wherever required.
As part of the drive, a food safety and hygiene awareness session was conducted for street food vendors and local food business operators. Participants were sensitized on the importance of maintaining personal hygiene, ensuring cleanliness of food preparation areas and utensils, adopting safe food handling and storage practices, preventing contamination, using safe drinking water, managing waste effectively, and complying with the guidelines of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). Vendors were encouraged to consistently follow hygienic practices to provide safe and wholesome food to consumers.
Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain, reiterated that the District Administration remains steadfast in its commitment to strengthening food safety standards and safeguarding public health. He emphasized that regular inspections, on-the-spot food testing, and awareness programmes will continue across Ludhiana district to promote responsible food handling practices and ensure the availability of safe and wholesome food for all.
The District Administration appealed to all Food Business Operators and street food vendors to strictly adhere to food safety regulations and actively cooperate with the authorities in building a healthier and safer food ecosystem for the citizens of Ludhiana.
