Five M.Sc. (Statistics) students secure placement at Panjab University campus placement drive

Chandigarh, March 24, 2026: The Department of Statistics and the Central Placement Cell, Panjab University, Chandigarh, jointly organised a campus placement drive in the Department of Statistics, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
MARSH, a global professional services firm, visited the Department of Statistics, Panjab University, Chandigarh, for campus recruitment. A total of 20 students, comprising 16 students from the Department of Statistics and 4 students from other university departments, appeared for the placement drive. The selection process comprised multiple rounds, including aptitude tests, technical assessments, and personal interviews.
It is a matter of great pride that, after the intensive evaluation, the company selected five M.Sc. (Statistics) final-year students of the Department of Statistics, namely Akshita, Ankaj Kumar, Arpita Jain, Hardik, and Himani Sharma, for placement.
Prof. Narinder Kumar, Chairperson of the Department of Statistics, expressed his pride in the students' achievements. He extended his heartiest congratulations to the selected candidates, noting that their success reflects the department's commitment to high academic standards. This outstanding achievement is a testament to the quality of education and training imparted by the Department of Statistics, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
He also expressed his sincere gratitude to the Central Placement Cell of Panjab University for its continuous support. Furthermore, he extended special thanks to Harminder Singh Deosi, the Placement Coordinator of the Department of Statistics, along with the departmental staff, for their seamless cooperation, including efforts for the smooth execution of the placement drive.
