Rohtak, October 22, 2026: Five scientists from the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Department of Health Research (DHR) will deliver expert lectures at a two-day Research Methodology Workshop and Research Day-2026 at PGIMS Rohtak on October 23 and 24.

Organised by the institute’s Multidisciplinary Research Unit (MRU), the workshop will be held at the PGIDS Dental Auditorium from 8 am to 6 pm. Around 200 faculty members, resident doctors and researchers from eight northern states are expected to participate. The Haryana Medical Council has awarded eight credit hours for the programme.

The sessions will cover research design, sample size calculation, statistical analysis, clinical trials, diagnostic studies and research grant proposals. A poster-making competition for undergraduate and postgraduate students will also be held as part of Research Day-2026.

Vice-Chancellor Dr H.K. Aggarwal said the workshop would help young doctors and faculty translate clinical experience into quality research.

Event chairperson Dr M.G. Vashisht said the programme aimed to strengthen participants’ research skills, from framing research questions to selecting appropriate study designs and analytical methods.

MRU nodal officer Dr Sanjay Kumar said the participation of five ICMR-DHR scientists together was a first for the unit’s workshop and would familiarise participants with research funding opportunities.

Speakers include Dr R.M. Pandey of AIIMS, New Delhi; Dr Ashu Grover, Dr Tanu Anand and Dr Giridharan S of ICMR; Dr Deepika of DHR; and Dr Sachin Mumbare of Ashwini Rural Medical College, Solapur.
