Five days training programme on ‘Preservation of seasonal fruits and vegetables’ organized under the aegis of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana from 2.6.2023 to 8.6.2023 concluded at KVK Ropar. The training programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. Satbir Singh, Deputy Director (Trg.) KVK, Ropar in which 12 farm women and 5 farmers participated.

Ludhiana, June 9, 2023: Five days training programme on ‘Preservation of seasonal fruits and vegetables’ organized under the aegis of Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana from 2.6.2023 to 8.6.2023 concluded at KVK Ropar. The training programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. Satbir Singh, Deputy Director (Trg.) KVK, Ropar in which 12 farm women and 5 farmers participated.

Dr. Satbir Singh, Deputy Director (Trg.), KVK Ropar, congratulated the participants and apprised them of the scope of this venture through value addition of seasonal fruits and vegetables. He motivated the participants to adopt this enterprise by forming small self help groups.

Manpreet Kaur, Demonstrator (Home Science) shared that rural women can increase their family income by adding value to the seasonal fruits and vegetables and adopting the same as an enterprise. She conducted demonstrations on preparation of rose sharbat, lemon squash, brahmi sharbat, mango squash, jams, pickles, chutneys, drying of vegetables in solar dryer, papad & vadi making, etc. The participants showed a great interest in the training program and gave assurance that they will prepare value added products from fruits and vegetables at household level.
