Fitness@IT held at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar

With the aim of inculcating interest in sports, ‘Fitness@IT’ the annual sports event was organized by PG Department of Computer Science & IT. In this event 264 students from six different department of the department is Sigma, Gopher, Abacus, Omega, Chrome and Zigbee participated. The events of the day included 100 metre race, 4X100m relay, Sack race, Shot Put, Long Jump and Lemon race for boys and girls of the department. Besides, lemon race was held for faculty members of the department.
Mr.B.K.Birdi, Joint Director, Enforcement was the Chief Guest on the day. He was given floral welcome by S. Jaspal Singh Waraich, Joint Secretary, College Governing Council, Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, HOD Dr. Manohar Singh and senior faculty members. Speaking on the occasion, he congratulated the institution on the event and called it the need of the hour. Principal Dr. GS. Samra motivated the students to maintain a healthy mind and healthy body for success in life. At the end of the event S. Jaspal Singh Waraich, Principal Dr. GS. Samra and HOD Dr. Manohar Singh gave away prizes to the winners. Zigbee house remained first in March Past. Sigma house remained first with 31 points whereas Gopher house remained second with 29 points.
Dr. Manohar Singh gave note of thanks. Prof. Sanjeev Anand, Prof. Jaspreet Kaur Saini and Prof. Shifali handled the commentary for the event. On the occasion, Prof. Sandeep Singh, Prof. Mandeep Bhatia, Prof. Gagandeep Singh, Prof. Ratnakar Mann and other faculty members of the department were also present.
