Fitness activities, interactive session mark World Heart Day at Livasa Hospital
To mark World Heart Day , Livasa Hospital, Nawanshahr on Tuesday organised fitness activities and an interactive session with cardiac specialists. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents and fitness enthusiasts, reinforcing the importance of staying active and making heart health a priority at every age.
Nawanshahr, September 29, 2026: To mark World Heart Day , Livasa Hospital, Nawanshahr on Tuesday organised fitness activities and an interactive session with cardiac specialists. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents and fitness enthusiasts, reinforcing the importance of staying active and making heart health a priority at every age.
Pankaj Sharma, DSP, Nawanshahr was chief guest at the event, while Dr. J.D. Verma, President, Senior Citizen Association, Nawanshahr, and members of the association attended as guests of honour. Neeraj Tiwari, GM- Livasa Hospital, Nawanshahr, was also present.
The event featured lively zumba, aerobics and Bhangra sessions. The programme highlighted how enjoyable physical activities could help people incorporate exercise into their daily routines and build healthier habits together.
During the occasion, Dr. Prashant Thandi and Dr. Jagjit Singh, both consultant–cardiology highlighted the importance of preventive cardiac care and maintaining heart health at every age. The both doctors encouraged participants to adopt simple, sustainable lifestyle habits, including regular physical activity, balanced nutrition and stress management, rather than waiting for symptoms to appear before seeking medical advice.
