Fit India Freedom Run 2.0 at PU

Chandigarh: Ms Gauri Sheoran, an International Shooter, Gold Medallist of SAF Games and World University Games flagged off the FIT INDIA RUN 2.0 from Gandhi Bhawan, Panjab University today, which was organised by the Directorate of Sports, PU in collaboration with Dean Student Welfare Men and Women and Dean International  Students.
 
The same was organised under the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav Fit India Movement initiative of the Govt. of India launched by Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narendra Modi and under the directions of Sports Minister of India, Sh. Anurag Thakur.
 
Approximate 150 participants aged between 5-65 years participated in the event and successfully completed the Run. The front finishers were Shaminder Singh from Punjabi Deptt followed by Kuldeep Singh English Deptt and Bunty Sharma from  Chemistry Deptt and other participants.
 
Two Para (Specially abled) Shooters also joined the event named Sunny and Satnam Singh, who are among India's Top 8 ranked players. Others present included, Sh. Jagdeep Singh, IAS, former Director of Sports, Haryana , Prof Anju Suri, Dean International Students, Prof. S.K. Tomar, Dean Students Welfare (M), Prof. Meena Sharma, Dean Students Welfare (W) ,
Prof Ashok Kumar, Associate Additional DSW, Dr. Dolly, Deputy Director Sports PU Campus, hostel wardens Dr Tilak , Dr J S Sehrawat, Dr Harjit, Dr Nidhi , Dr. Makhan Singh, Dr. Ravneet Kaur , Dr Neeru Malik, Associate Professor from Dev Samaj College , Coaches and office staff of Sports Department. The Run was successfully conducted under the leadership of Prof. Prashant Gautam, Director of Sports and Dr. Rakesh Malik Deputy Director Physical Education and Sports Punjab University Chandigarh
