First edition of intra department arbitral award writing competition 

Chandigarh: The Alternate Dispute Resolution and Client Counselling Board of University Institute of Legal Studies, Panjab University, conducted the first edition of its Intra Department Arbitral Award Writing Competition with the online valedictory ceremony held on 11th March, 2020. 
The meeting was hosted by Prof. Rattan Singh,  Director UILS and coordinated by Prof. Shruti Bedi, the Faculty Coordinator of the Board. The event was graced by the presence of Justice Rajive Bhalla, Former Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court as the Chief Guest as well as Prof. R. K. Singla, Dean University Instructions, Panjab University who was the guest of honour. 
The session began with a welcome address presented by Dr. Rattan Singh, followed by a few words of encouragement to the students delivered by Prof. Singla. This was followed by an enriching account by Justice Bhalla, who imparted his knowledge about writing the perfect Arbitral Award, and the do’s and don’ts that students must follow for the same. The vote of thanks was initiated by the Dr. Shruti Bedi, and this was followed by the declaration of the results. 
The winner of the competition was a team comprising of Ritik Gupta and Ritika Sharma. The second prize was bagged by Jainendra Kataria and the third position was held by Ishaan Loomba. 
This also marked the culmination of the academic session 2019-20 for the ADR and CCL Board, UILS.
