First Cornel Transplantation at Sankara Eye Hospital, Ludhiana

Ludhiana, November 13, 2013: Sankara Eye Hospital collected its first pair of eye from Sukhdev's Singh family living in Village Bhanohar on November 12.

On behalf of community SEH has expressed its gratitude to the family & pray to almighty to bless the departed soul & give strength to the family to bear the loss. Eye donated have been immediately put to use and likely to be transplanted within 24 hrs. The hospital also recognise the contribution of Balwinder Singh Bhall (Social Worker) who was instrumental in motivating the family to donate eyes. It is hoped that such community beneficial actions would also motivate others to donate eyes as in certain cases of blindness corneal transplant alone is only option to restore vision.
