Dharamshala, Sept 20, 2025: Tension gripped Dharamshala after a late-night firing incident in Kotwali Bazaar. Around 1:30 a.m., a scuffle broke out between local youths and a group of five to six youths from Punjab, during which one of the outsiders allegedly opened fire with a revolver.
The bullet grazed a local youth’s neck, narrowly avoiding a major tragedy. CCTV footage of the incident has since gone viral, sparking concern among residents.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Kangra, Ashok Ratna, confirmed the incident and said an FIR (No.153/25) has been registered. “Police teams were immediately formed, and raids are being conducted to nab the accused. Based on CCTV evidence, the attackers and their vehicle have been identified. They will be arrested soon, and strict legal action will follow,” he assured.
The SP also urged citizens to promptly report any illegal activity to the police, assuring that the identity of informants will be kept confidential.
