Fire erupted in electrical shop, electronics worth lakh gutted

Ferozepur, October 24, 2014: Though it was a peaceful Diwali night, few incident of Fire eruption were reported at Ferozepur. The major one was at Sachdeva Electronics, situated at local Choohi Chownk, Ferozepur City.

Satpal Sachdeva, owner of Sachdeva Electronics, told that since it was festive night, they closed the shop later in the evening, at around 10.30 pm. They were informed about the eruption of fire at around 11.30 pm. Immediately, all of their family members rushed to their shop and saw smoky fire. The fire brigade officials were called from Ferozepur city and Ferozepur cantonment. Keeping in the mind the densely populated area adjoining the shop, the fire brigade vans from Moga, Faridkot, Kotkapura were also called besides Ferozepur City and Cantonment. There was chaos all over thorough out the night.

The news was spread like wild fire. As soon as the matter was reported, DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur, Sandeep Singh, SDM, Ferozepur, Vibhor Sharma, DSP, Ferozepur City, Jatinder Singh, SHO, Ferozepur City, Yadwinder Singh, SHO, Ferozepur Cantt rushed to the spot and remained there throughout the night to console the family members of the shop.

The fire officials tried to douse the fire throughout the night but the flames and smoke were even seen in the morning.

Satpal Sachdeva, the owner said that keeping in mind the festive season they had stored a lot of electronic products and all of their investment has been lost.

The fire brigade officials also informed that besides this incident, some minor fire eruption incidents were also reported near Modi Mill, Preet Nagar (Ferozepur City).
