Ludhiana, December 4, 2022: FIR has been lodged by State GST department under  section 420, 465, 467,468 etc of Indian Penal Code against the persons  involved in fraudulent registrations in Ludhiana. Under the directions of Taxation Commissioner Punjab Kamal Kishore Yadav IAS, State GST department did thorough investigation and scrutiny of new registration applications received through online portal where several anomalies were detected. 

Randhir Kaur DCST informed that FIR has been registered against three persons for attempting to get registration under GST Act using fake documents and by fraudulent means.

Dr Sumandeep Kaur, Assistant Commissioner Ludhiana 4 who filed FIR, said that it was observed during scrutiny of registration applications , some unscrupulous elements have tried to use deceptive means to manipulate the online systems to get GST registration for fictitious firms. The department has acted against such elements.   Three registration applications  under GST have been received in Ludhiana 4,where stamp paper with same serial number was used for  Rent deeds for 3 different locations and further electricity  bill used in these registration  applications have also same consumer number. When contacted through  Electricity  Department, it was found that owner of that electricity bill have no property in these places and is settled abroad.

Randhir Kaur DCST said strict action will be taken against any such elements who try to play fraud with state revenue in future.
